Meet the DCE Elementary Library TeamHi! I'm Sue Benes, Library Media Specialist at D.C. Everest School District. I collaborate at Rothschild and Hatley Elementary Schools. Both buildings have grades K-5 and will total somewhere around 550 students between the two.
When I'm not a "librarian", I enjoy my husband and two children along with our big gardens, apple orchards, beehives, and chickens. As a family, we enjoy canoeing and spending time together. In my "quiet" time, I enjoy taking long walks, reading books on my Kindle, playing the many apps available on my iPad2 and listening to music. To learn more about me professionally, check out my portfolio! Hi! My name is Sheila Dembowski and this is my 22nd year of working as an elementary school media specialist (a.k.a. school librarian). This is my fifth year at Riverside Elementary School and I am blessed to work in a beautiful facility surrounded by dedicated staff and students!
I am a 1992 graduate of UW-Superior in elementary education and a 1996 graduate of UW-Milwaukee with a Masters in Library and Information Science. I have worked as a technology mentor and enjoy learning each day about how technology can be used to enhance our curriculum. I am also a published author and write book reviews and columns for our local newspapers. I share my life with my husband Jim and our son Michael, along with our “furry” family member, our cat, Marcus. I love to read, write, sketch, fish and golf.
