Tux Paint "Pictures tell a story" Visiting the Teddy Bear Clinic--Weston Elementary
Students from the Kindergarten classes visited the computer lab and were introduced to Tux Paint and were able to explore for a week or two. After their visit to the Teddy Bear clinic, they were back in the lab and were asked to create a picture in Tux Paint from something they remembered from their visit. The picture was supposed to be able to tell a story. They then added a sentence--with kindergarten spelling--to be printed off and put together as a book. Here are some examples:
Adventure Stories and Curious George--Weston Elementary
Ms. Koepke's class was learning about adventure stories. Together we read Curious George stories to her class ans talked about what an adventure is. In the library they were shown other examples of adventure stories. In class the students brainstormed things that the stuffed animal of Curious George could do to make their own adventure. Students were pulled from class and we took pictures of Curious George doing what they came up with while brainstorming. The teacher had the pictures developed and then they wrote the story using the pictures.
